If you ask LaVar Ball all three of his talented sons will one day play for the Los Angeles Lakers. So much so his son’s camp is willing to sabotage any possible trades for him that way he can stay there and wait for them to join him. While the goal has yet to be seen, LiAngelo, the second child of the opinionated basketball dad will join his younger brother, LaMelo, in the family ran the Junior Basketball Association.
You may remember LiAngelo for his sticky finger adventure in China, which eventually ended his short tenure at UCLA, but he moved on to declaring for the NBA Draft and attempting to play in Summer League ball, both were unsuccessful. Instead, LiAngelo and his brother will be teammates again, this time putting on jerseys for the Los Angeles Ballers. The duo’s first game will be on July 12.
A press release for LiAngelo’s arrival to the league refers to the player as “an interesting piece” to the Ballers team.
“I just want to win for the team,” LiAngelo said in the statement. “That’s all I want to do, win. I’m trying to play ball and I’m trying to get better every day.”
In case you missed it, the JBA kicked off in June, we’ll see if LiAngelo finally finds some basketball footing.
