Early Tuesday morning, there was a horrific car wreck that occurred westbound on the I-70 between the Indiana-Ohio border. The crash, which involved 9 semi trucks and 4 other vehicles, began when one semi was traveling too fast for the conditions which, was snow and wind, causing the driver to lose control and jack-knifed. Another semi soon followed but was unable to stop in time and crashed into the previous truck.
This caused a chain reaction which led to most of the I-70 being shut down. After assessing the scene, Police say that the wreck was a combination of 2 major crashes which initially involved 28 vehicles but ended up tallying up to 40 at it’s end. 3 people were injured in the wreck.
