Queen Latifah for Ford Mustang
From Ford:
The Queen made a wish and Ford Motor Company delivered. Twenty year-old NASCAR phenom Colin Braun brought award-winning musician and actress Queen Latifah a 2010 Ford Mustang and schooled her in how to drive the iconic muscle car like a pro. Latifah, already a proud owner of a ’65 Mustang, wished to drive the car in the extended music video for her new song “Fast Cars.”
“There are certain cars throughout history that have their own identity. They become synonymous with feeling and energy, an event in your life,” says Latifah. “A Mustang is a Mustang; the car is timeless.”
Latifah received her pro driving lesson and 2010 Mustang by participating in “The ‘10 Unleashed” promotion, which asks people to describe their ultimate Mustang dream experience in 250 words or less. A video diary chronicling her exhilarating lesson from Braun will be featured starting today at www.the2010mustang.com.
“Queen Latifah is a fabulous actress and musician, but more importantly she stays true to herself,” says Ford Mustang Communications Manager Patricia Piedrahita. “That’s what the Mustang is all about – style, power and individuality. When Queen Latifah told us she owned a classic Mustang and wanted a new one for her ‘Fast Cars’ video, we saw the perfect fit.”
On June 24, 2009, Latifah took a detour from promoting her new album to head to the New Jersey Motorsports Park, where Colin Braun and the 2010 Mustang were waiting for her. “Are you ready,” Braun asked her. She held on tight while he white-knuckled her through a few hot laps and then Latifah joked, “It’s time to conquer this track,” before she threw on her own helmet and experienced the raw power and handling of the new 2010 Mustang.
“I’ve been a little jealous of people riding around town with their Mustangs,” Latifah said. “Now I got one. No more jealousy. They can eat my dust.”
Latifah’s dream come true is brought to life through the video chapters available at www.the2010mustang.com.

The Day With No Social Networking
For those of you who tweet and broadcast every trivial detail of your otherwise boring lives, I’m sure you were baffled as to why you had trouble logging in to your Twitter and Facebook accounts yesterday morning. The two communication giants experienced severe technical problems after undergoing a denial-of-service attack. Because of this, the popular website Facebook suffered from very slow to non-functioning features whereas its crackishly addictive counterpart Twitter was completely inaccessible for several hours. Thousands of folks were found frantically running through the streets overcome with confusion, sadness and anger because they experienced such a great loss in the community (just kidding, but it wouldn’t have been a total surprise to see that).

You Can DJ Too
As if the DJ’s of the future weren’t spoiled enough, Native Instruments announces the Traktor Scratch Duo. Its a two-deck DJ solution with MIDI and time-code control that’s making it easier to not only scratch, but easier to afford. Priced at roughly $119 for the Traktor Duo and $349 for the Traktor Scratch Duo, it’s a far cry from the (minimum) G that DJ’s had to spend for a decent set up ‘back in the day’. But don’t get it twist, this DJ platform is being co-signed by DMC Champions DJ Crazy and DJ Klever. Watch them as they go back and forth for the Traktor’s promo video.
