Kim Stays Hustling
As you know, we have long-been staunch supporters of Lil Kim. And every week while she was repping Hip-Hop big-time on Dancing With The Stars, we encouraged you to get out and vote on her behalf and she and you did the damn thing. Each week she got better and better to the surprise of many. Yet finally in week 9, Miss Kim was voted off the show.
But it ain’t over. She’s back up and proving that you just can’t knock Brooklyn’s first lady. Enter Lil Kim’s tell-all book via St. Martin’s Press, The Price of Loyalty, about her experience in the Pen. When spoke to Kim about it a few days ago, she explained that the book will “not be about glamorizing” her experience, but much more than that.
“It’s mainly about my stint in prison. It’s a motivating story for women who are in prison, who might have been going through the same thing that I was growing through, or for somebody who has been through the same situation. You know, the price of loyalty is a big price to pay, when you’re dealing with a situation like that. I know there’s a lot of loyal people out there and you know, I was loyal to a fault. And I know there’s a lot of people out there like that, too. But maybe reading about my situation might help somebody before they get into that situation.
I met a lot of people when I was in prison, that I can consider my friends because we went through a lot. When you’re in prison, you go through a lot and you go through it more with the people inside than the friends that are on the street. So this [book] is about their stories and my stories combined, and its going to be informative.”
