Fourth Annual Stay In School Pep Rally
Russell Simmons, Keri Hilson, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and more all came out to motivate New York’s youth to stay in school today wit hthe 4th Annual Stay In School Pep Rally.
Hosted by HOT 97’s early morning show personalities, Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds; Simmons, Knick legend, John Starks, MTV’s Sway, DJ Webstar, Knicks stars Al Harrington and Nate Robinson, and Jets lineman Calvin Pace all spoke to the kids at the Tribeca Performing Art Center. Love ‘N Haiti Movement
A number of celebrities are rallying behind Haiti to help the embattled country win a global competition hosted by BBC World News and Newsweek. Wyclef, actress/model Garcelle Beauvais, Russell Simmons, Free (Power 105 FM), Sha Money, Tony Yayo, DJ Whoo Kid, Mona Scott-Young (Monami Entertainment), actor Jamie Hector and singer Black Dada have signed on as ambassadors for LOVE ‘N HAITI, a recycling project in Port-au-Prince that turns everyday trash into energy. LOVE ‘N HAITI – an initiative also championed by President Bill Clinton — is one of twelve finalists in the BBC’s “World Challenge ’09,” which will award a grant to the finalist with the most online votes. The cash grant will help LOVE ‘N HAITI continue its recycling efforts, which aid in decreasing deforestation, creating jobs, and reducing the incidence of floods.
“I’m proud to be a part of this campaign, not only because it’s for my people, but because I care about our environment,” says Wyclef. “All it takes is one vote to make a difference. We need everyone to support LOVE N’ HAITI!”

President Obama’s inaugural weekend will be remembered for so many historical reasons, the official swearing in of a new, forward thinking administration being paramount. Without question, the day Obama officially became President of the United States, a promise to unite a country divided by political affiliations and parties could begin to come to fruition.
An event so monumental in our nations history requires celebration in the highest. Party pros and DC club Love owners Marc Barnes and Taz Wube threw one of the most extravagant, lush and celeb packed parties of the night. It was the place to see and be seen, as heavy hitters T.I., Jay-Z, Jeezy, Beyonce and several other Obama supporters hit the stage or VIP booth in celebration of the change taking place not only in DC but by extension, the country, that night.
