Lil’ Wayne Takes Plea, Faces 8 Month Bid

Lil’ Wayne is expected to accept an 8-month bid in jail over his alleged involvement with a loaded .40-caliber pistol gun found on his tour bus in 2007 while in New York. It is reported that DNA evidence on the firearms blew open the case and that if Weezy, real name Dwayne Carter, didn’t take the plea he faced a much longer sentencing.
Wayne is rumored to be willing to accept the deal to avoid a long term in jail over the gun. The same source said the term will begin in February of 2010 under the terms of the deal. “If he doesn’t plead, he goes to jail for a long time,” a source said.

Lil’ Wayne Sued For Sleeping And Not Performing
Via TMZ
It certainly would have been cheaper to buy an alarm clock — Lil Wayne is being sued for nearly half-a-million bucks for sleeping when he should have been performing.
Red City Entertainment claims it fronted $432,000 for a Wayne concert appearance in the Bahamas. On September 27, 2008, there were plenty of lights and cameras… but no action, because Wayne was passed out in his hotel room. When he didn’t show for the performance, cops went to his hotel and found him unconscious.
In the lawsuit filed today, Red City claims it gave Wayne a $210,000 advance. The balance is for his hotel expenses and various costs involved in throwing the failed concert.
Calls to Lil Wayne’s rep were not returned.

L. Londell McMillan Comments On Jackson Estate Case
“Mrs Jackson’s legal filings were to first, seek custody in the best interests of her grandchildren and second, prevent against granting the unfettered master keys to the kingdom of Michael Jackson’s estate and legacy without approval, and prior to his burial. Today, the Judge shifted temporary special administration to the proposed executors under the 2002 will filed with the Court until August 3rd. Of importance, the Court ruled that business during this period should be conducted with Mrs. Jackson’s involvement and that no binding agreements may be entered without her consultation and the approval of the Court.”

R.Kelly Responds To Internet Statutory Rape Allegations
A representative of R. Kelly released the following statement in response to an inaccurate report on MediaTakeout about a supposed police search of his house in the Chicago suburb of Olympia Fields.
“A wildly exaggerated and inaccurate report has been circulating on the Internet that Olympia Fields police showed up at R. Kelly’s house with a search warrant just before the singer left for his three-week concert tour in Africa last month and then searched the place looking for a missing 17-year-old girl.
“This is completely false. No police ever showed up at Kelly’s house with a search warrant nor was his house ever searched. It is also not true, as the unsubstantiated report claimed, that any such girl ever stayed overnight in Kelly’s house or that she had been there but left shortly before some mythical police search.
“Kelly’s attorneys will cooperate fully with any investigation.”

Kamaal The Abstract Will See The Light Of Day
New York, NY- In these hard times, we can all stand a ray of hope. Hope in hip-hop now comes from the legendary Q-Tip, he of A Tribe Called Quest fame. His long-delayed album Kamaal the Abstract, slated originally for release in 2001, is finally dropping September 15th on Battery Records. A musical hybrid, Kamaal was commendably avant-garde at the time of its creation. Amazingly, it’s even more apropos in 2009; given the dearth of musical merit and capable MCs in today’s hip-hop, the time is ever-so-right for Tip.
