Quincy Jones and Clive Davis talk “This Is It”

This week, two Icons weighed in on the film “This Is It.” One Icon never worked with Jackson, and the other made his career. The Source Magazine caught up with both Clive Davis and Quincy Jones at two different events this week. On Wednesday, Clive gave a very special talk at NYU about the 35th Anniversary of Arista Records, which was sponsored by SoundCTRL, and last night Quincy Jones was being honored at the Third Annual Sunflower Children Benefit to support its SaveABaby initiative.

Michael Jackson: A Legend In Life And Death

On September 26th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Attorney L. Londell McMillan and the Congressional Black Caucus brought together a panel of celebrities, notable thinkers, and distinguished friends to remember Michael Jackson and examine the truth about the icon’s life, record breaking body of work, the issues surrounding his death and his life long legacy. Special guests included Rev. Jesse Jackson, President and CEO of BET Debra Lee, Civil Rights activisit, professor and philosopher Dr. Cornel West, and more. Londell McMillan convenes a panel of celebrities, notable thinkers, and distinguished friends to remember Michael Jackson and examine the truth about the icon’s life, record breaking body of work, the issues surrounding his death and his life long legacy.
