Snoop, Red, Meth and The Dude Tear Down Nokia Theater

Last night at the Nokia Theater, the Doggfather of the West Coast, Snoop Dogg came through NYC and got massive amounts of love, especially for being decked out in Yankee apparel. Joining Snoop was Method Man, Redman and Devin the Dude. Each set was chock full of hip-hop classics. Before Snoop’s set, he re-enacted some movie classics such as “Up In Snoop,” “Snoopula,” “Snoop The 13th,” and “Being Cordazar Calvin Broadus.” Hit the jump for more photos courtesy of Paul Birman

Joe And Meth Bite The Bullet, Dead Beef at Rock The Bells
With Joe Budden’s mouth and his aggressive opinions he’s been in a whirlwind of conflict, possibly attracting more bad press then good. Unfortunately things got taken out of context, media got involved and friends came to the defense of their brethren. What manifested was the beginning of a beef that had the talent and heart to become monumental as well as possibly dangerous for the newer Slaughterhouse.

Big Homie Hova And The New Kid Drake Surprise SummerJam
The Source was in the building last night for Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert out in Jersey. The line-up was pretty solid, but as always special guest and surprise performances are always expected. The end of ‘08 and so far ‘09 brought along with it a lot of new talent in the genre of Hip-Hop, as well as some veterans coming to dominate once again. All were represented at this year’s show coming out on the strength of artist already receiving love from the crowd. Along with Drake, some other surprises included, Lil’ Kim, Meth and Red, DJ Khaled and Maino.
Of course Big Hommie came through to dominate the Summer Jam scene. Jigga came out during Jeezy’s performance to do his remix of ‘I Put On’, and showed his dismay for the Auto-Tune trend with ‘D.O.A’ accompanied by T-Pain himself.
Mary proved to hold her own amongst Hip-Hop’s generals, especially when Meth came out and “Your All I Need” was done, proving to be one of the high lights of the show.

Don’t Push Raekwon’s Buddens
In an interview with Billboard.com, Raekwon talks about his upcoming album set to be released on August 11 (“Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II”). He also sets the record straight on the recent Joe Budden vs. Method Man battle over rapping skills that took place on NYC’s Power 105.1 last week.
“I was hurt by Joe’s comment. He seems like a cool dude, but I don’t appreciate him going at Meth like that. He [Joe Budden] must’ve been feeling himself. You don’t play a legend who, like Method Man, did a lot for hip-hop,” says Raekwon. “Joe bit off him anyway. When you listen to ‘Pump It Up,’ real n*ggas know where that flow came from. I’m not a battle rapper, but I will skin a n*gga - I will skin anybody. And, in my opinion, he isn’t better than Meth, never. You gotta watch your mouth. Joe was out of character.”
It is clear that Raekwon has no qualms with expressing his sentiments on the situation.
The Chef, who has worked on ‘Linx II’ with top name producers including Dr. Dre, says he will start touring shortly to promote his album.

Exclusive: Fiyah on the Power 105.1 Airwaves
This morning, New Yorkers were privy to a heated battle over the Power 105.1 airwaves as Joe Budden and Method Man got it in over who’s got more skills (Today at least). Apparently, Joe Budden “can prove” that’s he’s better, “regardless of how anybody feels.” Listen to the dialogue that sparked off the vicious debate that is revving up the streets. Shout out to DJ Kut.
