FDA seeks to ban narcotics mixed with acetaminophen
Government experts say prescription drugs like Vicodin and Percocet that combine a popular painkiller with stronger narcotics should be eliminated because of their role in deadly overdoses.
A Food and Drug Administration panel on Tuesday voted 20-17 that prescription drugs that combine acetaminophen with other painkilling ingredients should be pulled off the market.
The FDA has assembled a group of experts to vote on ways to reduce liver damage associated with acetaminophen, one of the most widely used drugs in the U.S.

If You Can’t Take The Heat…
Rapper Anthony Terrell Smith, also known as Tone Loc, collapsed early Friday morning at the Capt’n Fun Beach Club and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Reports from the Escambia Beach Sheriff’s Department say that it appeared Tone collapsed and had a seizure due to overheating. Best known for his hit singles “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina” in the 1980s, Tone had made several references to the hot weather before he passed out on stage. Latest reports confirm that he has been released from the hospital.

Swine Flu Hits The United States
As if we needed another reason to put down the pork sometimes, the Swine Flu has hit the United Staes. Over 1,000 cases of swine flu have been detected in Mexico, and has caused all schools in Mexico City today to shut down to prevent the spread of the disease. Now, cases of the flu have hit San Diego, and eight human cases in Texas and California. Even though the eight people have recovered from the illness, this epidemic is something that we must watch out for.

Why Wellness?
Why wellness? Why not wellness is perhaps the better question we should all pose to ourselves. It is evident across the nation that change is here and there is more change to come. What is even more startling is how we view ourselves in this new scheme of things, this new era of change. It would seem to some that wellness, health and things of this nature are also getting a face lift or more publicity than ever. This of course isn’t a coincidence. We have created the situations that are now making being well and healthy a sort of phenomenon in and of itself.
