Lost and Found: Guru Lesson Number 2
As the lyrical half of the trailblazing duo Gangstarr, Guru a.k.a. Baldhead Slick has continued to charter new territory in the field of Hip Hop despite the rumors that he and DJ Premier no longer exist together as Gangstarr. Ever since the Jazzamatazz series, Mr. Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal, has consistently set trends and influenced an entire generation of MCs without selling out to the corporate end of the spectrum of Hip Hop. After expanding his audience across seas, Guru has formed another bond behind the boards with Solar(not to be confused with MC Solaar), the producer of his debut solo album Version 7.0 The Street Scriptures and his latest effort Guru 8.0: Lost and Found on Guru and Solar’s joint independent label venture, 7 Grand Records. Kanye’s New Energy Drink

Women In Hip-Hop: Bahamadia

Philadelphia native Bahamadia received her big break in 1993 with her independent single “Funk Vibe.” She soon caught the attention of rapper Guru of the Gang Starr foundation and received her first record deal on Chrysalis Records. Some of her most popular work came from her collaborative work with DJ Premier on her critically acclaimed album Kollage, which spawned the street hits “True Honey Buns” and “3 The Hard Way.”
