Hurricane Season Temporarily Postpones South Florida Summer Fest

MIAMI, FL (RHONA FOX, INC.)- The uncertainty of the weather forecast for this weekend in Miami, Florida as a result of the two hurricanes looming in the Caribbean has forced the promoter of the South Florida Summer Fest 2009 to postpone the highly-anticipated event until further notice.

Since the show has been postponed and NOT CANCELED, ticket holders are urged to retain their tickets for admission into the rescheduled show, for which their tickets will remain valid.

Jay-Z Reclaims The Top Of Forbes

For the second time in three years, Jay-Z took the crown as the top earner in Forbes annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Jay-z raked in $35 Million while Diddy followed up with $30 Million. Flo Rida’s X-Rated Show

AVN (Adult Video News) has selected Grammy-nominated artist Flo Rida to perform at the 2009 AVN Adult Movie Awards.

“Since we started the Awards in 1983, the goal has been to make it as exciting and entertaining as any of the mainstream Hollywood awards shows; I think with adding a performance by Flo Rida to the mix you can see that we’re making good on our vision.” stated AVN Publications President
Paul Fishbein.

The event scheduled to take place on January 10, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, will be hosted by popular adult entertainment industry bodies, Belladonna and Jenna Haze.

In past years, AVN brought in Chingy and rock group Buckcherry to headline the show honoring the best, and not typically the brightest, in the adult video business.

Tickets for the show are now available through Ticketmaster and range in price form $107- $249

Hip-Hop Tops AMA Nominations

Hip-Hop is represented quite nicely on the American Music Award nominee list.

Lil Wayne, who no doubt has had the biggest year in Hip-Hop, is up for Artist of the Year, Favorite Rap Album and faces off against Kanye West and Flo Rida for Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist.

Jay-Z’s American Gangster and Kanye’s Graduation are the other two albums in the Favorite Rap Album category.

Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and Rihanna are the nominated for Favorite Female Artist in the Pop/Rock category and Mary J. Blige joins Keys and Rihanna for Favorite Female R&B/Soul Artist.

The American Music Awards air November 23 on ABC.
