Curtis Plays Nice For ThisIs50 Fest

50 and the Unit deaded a lot of beefs and did a lot of good in Hip-Hop this weekend by putting together ThisIs50 Fest on Governor’s Island. Everything seemed like peaches and cream with 50 and former adversaries like D-Block, Dipset, Joe Budden and more. Max B Gets 75 Years In Prison

Max B, born Charly Wingate, had the book thrown at him today by the Supreme Court when he received 75 years in prison today for masterminding a deadly robbery at a Fort Lee hotel four years ago. His stepbrother, Kevin Leerdam received a life term plus 35 years for his part in the scheme.

Red Apples Falling Premieres at the New York International Film Festival

Jim Jones and Damon dash came through for the world premiere of their new film, “Red Apples Falling,” at The School of Visual Arts on 23rd Street. Before the film, Dash and Jones both gave a small speech. Most people probably don’t know that Dash has known Jim since he was 8 years old. When they were younger they used to dream of making films and movies and now they are doing it. “We did it like a documentary, but it’s really shot like a movie I hope y’all enjoy it. There’s a lot more to come,” Jim said. “It was just pure art…shout out to Jim for never ever showing up late,” said Dash.

The Verdict Is In…

Former Dipset alumni Max B has been found guilty of 9 out of 11 counts, which included felony murder, robbery and conspiracy. Max, along with his stepbrother Kelvin Leerdam and girlfriend Gina Conway, were on trail for a botched robbery that left a man dead at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey in 2007 and are all looking at 20 years in prison. After turning her back on the duo, Conway worked closely with the prosecution and had her jail sentenced reduced in exchange for her testimony. Biggaveli’s sentence date has been scheduled for July 30, 2009.
