Rhymesayers Presents The RSE Spotlight Series
Independent record label Rhymesayers is shining beams on their up-and-coming roster with their RSE Spotlight Series. The series will provide selective services and distribution to their independent acts, helping push record sales and establish larger fanbases for their promising artists. Well-renowned community activist and Twin Cities Hip-Hop member, Toki Wright, will be the first to set it off with his upcoming release A Different Mirror. Wright has garnered a buzz on the independent circuit, starting off as an overly energetic hype man and recently opening up for fellow Rhymesayer Brother Ali. Keep n eye out for A Different Mirror, which hits record shelves June 9th.

#1 On The Obama Charts

This year in Hip-Hop, Barack Obama got name-dropped more than Mary Jane and Tony Montana. Our next president inspired everyone from Nas to Jin to weigh in on the issues of the day through songs about his candidacy. Will.i.am had so much to say he had to record three Obama songs.
But which Obama tracks were hits and which were misses?
We took an informal poll here at The Source and came up with our top five Obama-inspired tracks. Pick your favorite from the list of our picks. Also, if you think we unfairly left any track of the list, (Jay-Z- “History,” anyone? “Yes We Can?”)
