Legal Battle Over Tupac Biopic

Last month production company Morgan Creek filed a lawsuit against Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur Amaru claiming she backed out of a deal after promising to sell the company rights to the late rapper’s life story.
Now, Amaru has fired back with a $10 million cross-complaint claiming the company tried to force her into a deal and then sabotaged her attempts to negotiate the project with other companies.
According to Amaru’s suit, the dealings with Morgan Creek got shadey just after the Biggie biopic Notorious had a $20 million opening weekend.
