Return Of The King

Tonight marks the return of LeBron James to the big apple for his one and only trip to the Garden this year. When LeBron heads to Madison Square, he gets met with the treatment of a fan favorite despite being a visiting player, reason being is that Knicks fans are holding out hope that LeBron will be rocking the blue and orange next year when he is a free agent. Believe that all the stars will be on that sideline to watch the reigning MVP’s only appearance to the Garden this year until (possibly) the 2010 season.

The Yankees Run This Town
New York showed out today along Broadway to celebrate the Yankees’ 27th Major League Baseball World Championship win. Over two million fans donned in Yankees paraphernalia, crowded the streets of lower Manhattan (right in front of The Source offices) in spite of the cold, while those in buildings stoop atop nearby ledges to watch the parade honoring the Bronx Bombers. Forget the confetti, paper—full sheets, shredded, to paper towels, toilet paper and printer paper— was in abundance, falling from the sky as the floats that carried players from the team and their families, executives, city officials, local high school bands, as well as a few notables.
Roc signs were in the air when Jay-Z made his second appearance in support of the Yankees, riding along with Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez. The crowd went bananas when Derek Jeter’s float rolled through, while they chanted “MVP” for Hideki Matsui. Johnny Damon, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and CC Sabathia also got mad love as they went by. Today was definitely another historical and proud moment for New Yorkers everywhere.
