“Design For Obama” Book Launch

Last night, on the one year anniversary of President Barack Obama’s election, Taschen Store New York hosted the launch of the graphic design anthology, Design for Obama. Posters for Change: A Grassroots Anthology. The book is a compilation of posters selected from hundreds of submissions to designforobama.org by Obama supporters.
Over 250 made their way out to Taschen to meet and also get their books signed by Design editors Spike Lee and Aaron Perry-Zucker, as well as Design historian, Stephen Heller.

Eva Marcille Host Hennessy Black “Black Masquerade”


On Friday October 30th, Maurice Hennessy, an 8th generation member of the Hennessy family, co-hosted an intimate tasting of the Hennessy Black “Black Masquerade” and Hennessy Black signature cocktails for a toast honoring the 25th Birthday of Top Model & Actress Eva Marcille Pigford. The
Black Masquerade, an exclusive Halloween beverage, will be the featured mixed drink of choice during her private birthday celebration on Halloween day. Eva Marcille Pigford’s fiancé actor Lance Gross also attended in addition to SRC/Universal recording artist O’Neal McKnight, Pittsburgh Steelers Lamarr Woodley, TV & Radio Personality Egypt and MTV T3rs VJ L.Boogs. The event took place at the Moet Hennessy USA office in New York City.

Keep A Child Alive Black Ball at Hammerstein

Queen Latifah, Iman and Padma Lakshmi co-hosted the 2009 Keep a Child Alive Black Ball last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Honoring Richard Branson and Bill Clinton this year; Keep a Child Alive is dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India by directly engaging the global public in the fight against AIDS. The stunning Alicia Keys performed for the New York City crowd and the foundation she had helped found in 2003 witnessing the AIDS pandemic firsthand. The evening of cocktails, dinner & performances to benefit children & families with HIV/AIDS in Africa & India. The star studded event included appearances by Usher, Halle Berry, Samuel L. “The Undaground Railroad”

“THE UNDAGROUND RAILROAD” Showcase, presented by The Source Magazine, Tyku, and M.O.V.E. Records features some of the top up and coming talent in the music industry. There will be three acts performing: Mekka Don, Talonted, and Flo.
