The 26th Annual Los Magnificos Car Show

Check out Blastro Networks’ video from the 26th annual Los Magnificos car show, presented by 97.9 “The Box” in Houston TX last month.

The event also included a concert with performances by Lil Flip, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Bun B, Paul Wall, Lil Keke and Mike Jones.

A Different Harley - The V-Rod Unveiling

Last week, The Source was in the house for the unveiling of the new 2009 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle.

Harley-Davidson executive Mark-Hans Richer says this new ride “stretches the very definition of what it means to be a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The V-Rod has a new stylish instrument panel, chopped and sculpted tail section, a new deep seat, LED turn signals integrated into the mirror stems, trimmed front fender that’s blacked out behind satin-finished inverted forks and a meaty double barrel exhaust.

The V-Rod can be seen at South Street Seaport through January.

Must Have Car - Bugatti Veyron

Whether or not you are a car buff you can’t deny the beauty of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport. The car can be made topless, which although it slows things down, adds an extremely modern look.

The new Bugatti also has daytime LED lights, a reversing camera in the rearview, a bangin sound system and diamond-cut alloy rims - all for about $2.5 million!

Sharpied Lambo

Like the designs on this Lamborghini Gallardo? Would you believe that all of that detail is actually Sharpie art work?

Prestige Lamborghini of Miami went crazy on this Lambo with Sharpies then covered it with a clear coating. The process took two weeks.

Yamaha Shows Off The ’09s

A few of us recently attended the Yamaha showcase in NYC. The new R1 promises to be faster and lighter and has a few upgrades like a fancy new engine with a crossplane crankshaft - more linear power, improved throttle control and twin projector headlights.

The Source At The Orchard Beach Car Show

If you’re in the New York area Sunday, September 21, come check out The Source at the Orchard Beach Car Show in the Bronx. We’ll be there with Source T-shirts and copies of our 20th anniversary issue.

The Orchard Beach Car Show, in it’s eighth year, is one of the largest classic car shows on the East Coast. A 2008 Mustang Shelby GT will be raffled off at the event.

2009 Cadillac CTS-V

The new Cadillac CTS-V is the most powerful Cadillac ever. With 550 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 550 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm, this Cadillac is will be one of the fastest sports sedans on the rode. The BMW M5 and Audi RS6 better watch their backs, or they’ll be watching the back of one of these fine machines.

The engine is essentially the same as the one in the new Corvette ZR1, but the body, which is updated but not reinvented, is all Caddy.

You WILL Be Driving A Hybrid

More than a hundred auto executives in 15 countries have spoken, hybrids are taking over. A new report from IBM says that in just 12 years, every new car will be a hybrid.

For those of us concerned with our wallets and the soaring gas prices, this is a good look. But those concerned with performance may be less than thrilled. Most of the hybrids on the road today aren’t as fast or sexy as their gas-guzzling counterparts. However, automakers promise advances in mechanics and technology that will perfect hybrid performance and forward-thinking design sure to up the sexy factor.
