Marvelous Women
With comic book readership down, Marvel may have just found a way to stay relevant with the limited series Marvel Divas. “The pitch started as Sex and the City in the Marvel Universe and there’s definitely that ‘naughty’ element to it,” said Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, one-half of the series’ creative team. As part graphic novel and part television series and aimed at developing a stronger following among female readers, with characters such as Black Cat, Hell Cat, Firestar and Photon, male readers won’t be that far behind.
