Guru Suffers Cardiac Arrest
According to multiple media outlets over the weekend, one of hip-hop's most influential MC's went into cardiac arrest and is now in a coma. Keith "Guru" Alam of the legendary Gang Starr suffered a massive heart attack and according to Guru's sister Tricia is in a New York - based hospital and in a coma fighting for his life. The Boston-born, Brooklyn raised rapper which paired initially with 45 King and then DJ Premier to create the pioneering duo, Gangstarr in 1986. Together the duo created legendary records throughout the 90's such as Step In The Arena, Hard To Earn, Daily Operation and Moment Of Truth. As of Monday morning, the 43-year-old MC is currently awaiting surgery in New York. All of us at The Source are wishing Guru a speedy recovery and we keep him in our prayers.

I wish the 'gifted unlimited' a speedy recovery. With hip hop's current state we can't afford to be w/o a living legend, thoughts/prayers go out to the whole foundation
