Fabolous Seen Being Green on Tour

Fabolous will be headlining the Be Seen Being Green College Music Tour with Trey Songz in Miami, FL on  April 16th, to educate students and youth on green awareness through music. Fabolous caught up with TheSource.com  to talk about his involvement in the Be Seen Being Green project, ways to be green, and the importance of  green awareness  in the Hip-Hop community.
 

The Source:Tell me how you got involved in the campaign and the tour?

 

Fabolous: Of course they came to me, I thought it was a great thing to be a part of because its good to help preserve and save the earth. I thought it was a good thing to use my public figure to help people become  aware of what they need to do and continue practicing.


The Source: How important is it for  the hip-hop community to get involved in going green?

 

Fabolous: It's a big community , some of the reasons why it's not being practiced is because of the ignorance of not being aware.I think the more artist and  other  people who are more popular in the hip-hop community should step up  and raise awareness to our hip-hop followers. We  can help in little ways, we aren't saying change your whole lifestyle but there are little things you can do to help.


The Source: Do you find it hard to get young people to get involved in the green movement?

 

Fabolous:I don't find it hard, it's definitely  a challenge because people are always use to doing what they are use to doing. When something isn't common or you don't do it in your everyday lifestyle it's easy to forget and easy to stop doing it. People follow people, when they see you recycle  they recycle. A person in my position, influence people it works the same. I have to train myself as well, people around me  can help me when I forget.

The Source: What steps are you taking to live a green lifestyle?

Fabolous:Recycling, taking electronics out of the socket when I'm not using them.If something is close enough to walk I rather do that then drive. Ya 'know little things..

Be Seen Being Green College Music Tour starts April 15th at University of Miami. This event  will also have educational seminars with actress  Persia White (Actress & Eco-activist), , Mayor Bower (Miami Beach Mayor),  Hip Hop Caucus, Stephanie Owens (Director of Public Engagement, EPA), Dale Bell (Award-winning Author & Filmmaker), Daniell Washington (Green For All Fellow/ Big Blue & YOU Foundation Inc), Apple Levy (Founder of The Green Girls).
