Instrumental To Life

Hunger is a feeling that most people feel physically, At “Beast of the Beats III” not only could one feel it, you could also see, smell and hear it. Some of the contestants actually captured the essence of putting their heart & soul on wax in the same manner that Jimi Hendrix did with his guitar. Beat after beat, string after string sample after sample, slowly made listeners forget about other aspects to a song ie: hooks, bars, and meaningful lyrics. The beautiful noise found here needed none of the distractions accompanied by vocals.
The I-Standard “Beast of the Beats III” was held at the world famous NY club “Touch” and was hosted by company Co-founder J-Hatch. The contestants consisted of platinum plus producers : Rsonist (of the Heatmakerz) Digga, Amadeus, Bink, J. Cardim, ILLmind, Jimi Kendrix (of Street Radio), and Vinnie Idol. Each producer had a 90-seconds to play a known hit, followed by a another 90-seconds of new unheard material. After each turn the crowd played the role of judge and jury (Amateur night at The Apollo style of course), and chose who would advance to the next round. This went on for 3 consecutive rounds, and ended with Rsonist (of the Heatmakerz) emerging as the victor.
The event also held a show case for 30 up and coming producers who competed for first place prizes: a Roland Fantom G6, Rane Serato/Scratch Live, one mixed song by Grammy Award winning engineer, Ken Lewis, and 5 A&R meetings. The Celebrity Judge of the evening was Super Producer/Singer Mario Winans, along with other industry chart topping producers Sean C & LV (of Grind Music) who lended some words of advice to the contestants. Even though this was only the 3rd annual competition, the buzz that the event has acquired has only solidify its success and growth for next year.

Thanks for the write up Dan, obviously the fool who left the first comment doesn’t know anything about our grind for the producers, probably thinks his stuff is the hottest because his broke ass friends tell him he is hot. 4 years, over 1500 producers showcased in 12 major cities, sponsored by 5 major corporations all leaders in their field and we are clowns? Stop making music for your fake myspace friends to hear you coward. We hve placements with 50, Diddy, Buckshot, KRS, MTV, Fab, Jill Scott, Clipse and more. This is the co founder J Hatch and I approve this message, smh for these internet wanna be thugs man. Get a day job, word.
