Just when you thought you couldn’t get enough of hearing about Twitter…The popular social network is making waves again- at the expense of yet another celebrity. Eric and Jeff Rosenthal, creators and stars of the hilarious hip-hop sketch comedy show, ‘It’s the Real’ (www.Itsthereal.com), proposed an apparently catchy ‘Trending topic’ (a.k.a. a popular subject or occurrence in which large amounts of people tweet about). The area of discussion they chose? Floridian rapper Ace Hood (they out did themselves with this one, folks).

Yes, it is random as all hell, however, somehow it managed to be one of the funniest topics on Twitter right now. How? It all began yesterday when Eric & Jeff tweeted what they thought was a really bad idea for a trending topic:

“Worst trending topic: #uknowuacehood”

To add insult to injury, they then decided to show their followers (almost 5,000 to be exact) why by posting a barrage of creative “Yo mama”- style jokes directed towards the emcee- completely making a mockery of his career, appearance and anything else that came to mind:

“#uknowuacehood when you’re the only one who knew that your album came out a month ago”

“#uknowuacehood if you’re money’s shorter than your height, and you’re not a tall fella.”
And of course, their followers held true to their title and followed suit- contributing their own jokes to the thread:

“RT @JensenClan88 #uknowuacehood when DJ Khaled only yells “We kinda mediocre!” on your songs””

“@jamesmoran804 #uknowacehood looks like whoopi goldberg in high school”

Ouch…After I stopped laughing at the apparent roast, I realized no one asked the million dollar question: Why in the world did these two guys decide to pick on Ace Hood? If you’ve seen any of their webisodes, the answer is simple: because they can. For the last two years, with today being their 2nd anniversary (congrats!) Eric and Jeff of ‘It’s the Real’ have been poking fun at hip hop culture, music and artists in all walks of life- from DMX to Drake, these guys get it in when it comes to comic relief.

Although the Floridian rapper seems to be bearing the brunt of their latest antics, I’m sure he’ll have company in the near future. So cheer up, Ace Hood- with more and even funnier webisodes in the works as we speak, it’s only a matter of time before Eric and Jeff pick on someone else.
