Someone Help Stephon Marbury
Its safe to say Stephon Marbury fans have a reason to concern about the former Knick. Mr. Starbury video blogs as of late haven’t painted quite a healthy or sane picture for him. Now whether or not he is in fact losing his mind, or intoxicated during these videos is up in the air, but the fact is something IS NOT right with him. In all honesty it might be better for his image if he were strung out on something and go to rehab, oppose to him being insane as he’s been portraying.
Marbury’s initial red flag for help stems back to his interview on Mike’d Up in late 2007. Throughout the interview Marbury bounces around host, Bruce Beck’s questions like a cheating boyfriend being asked about suspicious text messages in his cell phone. In an unexpected, and unrelated turn Starbury even managed to hint toward a possible incestive relationship with his sister, accidentally calling his wife his ‘better hoe’ before correcting himself, then finally dancing and attempting to talk over Beck while he attempts to go to commercial break. Watching the video its hard to feel anything but uncomfortable for host Beck, and pity for Marbury.
If the Mike’d Up interview wasn’t a red flag for help Marbury’s latest antics certainly are. His recent video streams have ranged from unexplained crying while listening to Kirk Franklin’s “Lean on Me”, to eating… thats right, eating vaseline, along with countless other videos of Starbury rambling on. It is clear that Steph needs some sort of help, before he destroys his already tainted image.
Its quite ironic to me that someone like Stephon Marbury, who does as much charity work aimed toward children as he does, would broadcast his questionable behavior for the world to see. I truley hope he finds the help he needs because there are kids who look up to him, and at the rate he’s going the most he is going to manage to do is let them down, and be a example of wasted potential. Hopefully Marbury will clean up his act before he completely ruins his image.
