S.I.H.H.N - Supreme

THE SOURCE . COM — Brooklyn has brought out some of the industries finest MC’s , did that encourage you to pursue a career in hip hop ?

SUPREME — Yea I think it played a good part , but not entirely , its not the main reason why I am doing hip hop . It wouldn’t make sense to say I want to be a rapper just because I am from Brooklyn , but I believe the earlier involvement of acts like BIG paved the way for our generation to follow suit , and that’s why I think being from Brooklyn played a part , a very good part.

THE SOURCE . COM — You have built quite a name for yourself at least on the streets of Brooklyn , was that an easy task ?

SUPREME – I wouldn’t say it was easy , I think it came out of a lot of hard work and focus. I am focused on what I am doing so I can be the best at it . At times people just come to me on the streets claiming they know me and it surprises me because I have never seen them in my life , but then I realize its because I have put in a lot of work , that has really paid off . When you put in a lot of work , people will know who you are , in other words , your works build your reputation.

THE SOURCE . COM — Is there any artiste in the industry you really want to work with ?

SUPREME – Yes of course , I would like to work with dudes like THE GAME and definitely PAPOOSE , I believe these dudes are lyrical and that’s why I want to be associated with them in terms of doing something together. These are the top on my list , I have not met THE GAME personally but I am trying to reach out to him to work on this album that I am putting together. I have met PAPOOSE personally , I ran into him lots of times back home in BROOKLYN even before he made the name , but I wouldn’t say we really click on that level ..

THE SOURCE . COM —Would you ever get in a beef with some other rapper just to spark up your popularity ?

SUPREME — Laughs , nah that’s not my style , I do not have anything against any dude out there , I feel like nobody has come at me so there is no need for me to go at anyone. I wouldn’t go at anybody just to gain some popularity for myself , I think focusing on that will be sober of me . But if any of these guys in the mainstream that I think will be worthy of a reply comes at me , then I would surely respond and we could do something like the JAY and NAS did.

THE SOURCE . COM — How long do you see yourself remaining in hip hop ?

SUPREME — Hip hop has been around for long and its still around , I think I will always be in hip hop in some capacity , hip hop is bigger than just rapping , its more like politics , you know how people consider themselves as democrats and republicans , I would say I am hip hop in that regard , but I will also do anything that exposes my creativity , something like acting , I think I will also go into video editing , its not just about the lyrical expression , its about creativity in and around hip hop.

THE SOURCE . COM — What is SUPREME coming out with that fans should look out for at ?

SUPREME – I am working on an album , my first single is dropping on June 18 and its called HATE which is jointly produced by NICK WIZ , the second single that will be dropping is THE PAIN which is produced by DOMINGO who worked with acts like BIG PUN. The whole album is titled ITS MY TIME and that’s coming out in mid July or early August, after singles hit the radios . Its an independent project , my company is known as SUPREMES FOCUSED RECORDS. I recently teamed up with A & R SELECT which is based in LOS ANGELES , CA to promote my works .
