Michael Vick Is A Free Man
Today, suspended former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Michael Vick, has been released from federal custody after serving a 23-month sentence (the last two under house arrest) due to a dogfighting conviction. The big questions we all are wondering is ‘Will Vick return to the NFL?’ and, if so ‘Will he be returning to the Falcons?’ The answer to the latter is no, according to ESPN.com, “If Vick is able to return to the NFL, it won’t be with Atlanta. The Falcons released him in June.” As for the first question, the answer is unclear.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated in May that “Michael is going to have to demonstrate to myself and to the general public and to a lot of people: Did he learn anything from this experience? Does he regret what happened? Does he feel that he can be a positive influence going forward?” Goodell is reportedly planning to sit down with Vick to discuss his future (if any) in the NFL. Depending on the outcome of the meeting fans of Mike Vick will know if he will be let off the ‘leash’ and return to the gridiron.
