According to an official press release from Black PR Wire, The Queen was in Chi-Town this weekend for the “My Black Is Beautiful” tour.
Over 3,500 women attended the affair – a free all-day event, sponsored by CoverGirl® Queen Collection, Olay® Definity, Always® and Tampax® among other Proctor & Gamble brands, filled with workshops, celebrity panels, beauty makeovers and entertainment. “My Black Is Beautiful” started back in 2006 with a group of African-American women at Proctor & Gamble in an event to celebrate the diversity and collective beauty of African-American women. The campaign encourages black women to define their own beauty standards and promote it through various avenues. Check out the final stop on the tour during the Essence Music Festival – New Orleans, July 3-5.
