This is Bananas

We here at The Source promote the green movement. Let us put you on game. Researchers at Nottingham University developed a method of using banana skins, leaves and saw dust to create briquettes that can be burned for cooking, heating and lighting. This technique would be especially useful in several countries across Africa, relieving many of the burdens of gathering firewood, which can take up to six hours of walking to gather and bring home. As it is the dominant energy source in many parts of the continent, reducing the burning of firewood would reduce deforestation, which contributes significantly to global warming. It would also help many poor families financially. So while you’re enjoying that banana split this summer, think of how fortunate you are compared to many others, and be sure to do your part to save the planet.
