Despite the uncanny resemblance to DC Comic’s intergalactic super hero, Green Lantern, Common will not be putting on a lime green spandex suit for the role in the upcoming Warner Brothers flick, slated for December 2010.

Last year, rumors were a buzz about the possibility of either Tyerese Gibson or Common playing the role. Originally the film was going to focus on John Stewart, the African American conception of the superhero, but after a series of script revisions the story was changed to focus on Hal Jordan, the original and better known Green Lantern, who was white.

Common fans will still be able to get their fix as the rapper will still appear in the upcoming Terminator sequel, Terminator Salvation, in theaters May 22.
