Only because it seems that people are making more news on Twitter than off of it, Rookie Rapper Asher Roth, “supposedely” caused a firestorm last night. Ash went all Don Imus on the Twitter nation when this popped up on his page.

After this appeared, Roth’s management team released a statement blaming a “twitter hacker” on the entire debacle.
The suburban kid from West Chester University was winning fans and respect from people of all races, until a fury of objectional re-tweets replied to the comment. Asher would then subsequently apologize for the quote stating:

“Totally Making fun of Don Imus, Sorry scoot, not trying to be offensive.” He continued, “I’m extremely apologetic to anyone who took offense to my immature bad joke.”

After checking back on Ash’s page today, the last weeks’ worth of tweets were all deleted.

While most people might give the kid benefit of the doubt and not believe Asher Roth is racist, this joke was told in extremely poor taste and he should know better since he was performing at Rutgers University last night.

Asher might have just inadvertenly ethered himself.
