Apple Reaches 1 Billion Downloads!

Soulja Boy loves to refer to himself as the king of the internet downloads. But, the young entrepreneur has a long way to go if he’s going to be mentioned in the same sentence with the Goliaths over at Apple. The computer/gadgets company just surpassed their 1 Billionth download for iPhone and iPod Touch applications, all in less than a year. 13-year-old Connor Mulcahey of Weston, Conn., received a hefty reward for the billionth download. The young down-loader snagged a MacBook Pro, $10,000 iTunes gift card, an iPod touch, and a Time Capsule backup device. On an average, Apple registers 5.55 million apps per day and has added 73 million downloads since the 1 billion mark.
