Women In Hip-Hop: Bahamadia

Philadelphia native Bahamadia received her big break in 1993 with her independent single “Funk Vibe.” She soon caught the attention of rapper Guru of the Gang Starr foundation and received her first record deal on Chrysalis Records. Some of her most popular work came from her collaborative work with DJ Premier on her critically acclaimed album Kollage, which spawned the street hits “True Honey Buns” and “3 The Hard Way.”
Bahamadia has made several guest appearances on records with Talib Kweli, Rah Digga and Slum Village; plus she continues to do shows across the nation. Her unparallel lyricism and monotone vocals made her a standout and an underground queen in Hip-Hop.

I remembered when her first single came out, that song was one of the hottest tracks I every heard from a female MC, that track was hot.
