Back To The Lab: Gorilla Zoe

Though following the formula to match the success of his “Hood Figga” single would be a safe strategy, Gorilla Zoe isn’t trying to repeat himself. “Lost,” the new single from his upcoming Don’t Feed Da Animals album, has a distinctly serious mood. “I am not a copycat artist,” Zoe says. “I’ve been all over the world. I realized that people like music that they can move to, music that feels good to the soul.”

Determined to avoid any sophomore slump, Gorilla Zoe has linked up with Rick Ross (“What It Is”), Sean Kingston (“On the Corner”) and others to ensure he has bangers, and balance. “People don’t live in the club,” he says. “The rest of the week is real life. That’s what’s important, so that’s what I go on.”

That’s a smart man and I give him credit…People has to understand that Hip-Hop is not just a movement, it’s also a business…He’s just doing what he needs to do to make sure that his album realistic and popular…Good Thinkin’ Zoe…

Gorilla Zoe’s last album was a hood banga. It shouldn’t be to hard to create another hit album if he has the right producers and recording artists on it.
