A Snowboarding Title To Be Stoked For

Developer Destineer looks to revolutionize the extreme sports genre with the Xbox 360 exclusive, Stoked. Gamers in search of a more realistic presentation and free-roaming environment might find what they’re looking for in this title.
For starters, choose from five different mountain locations (across the globe), as you launch yourself onto the highest peaks and steepest slopes, performing ridiculous stunts and earning accolades in the process. Climate plays a major factor in the game, as the weather consistently changes, adding more practicality to the experience.
After earning credibility through several challenges, players will be branded from two distinct styles, Hucker (risky and fast-paced) and Stylish (leisurely and fashionable), and will gain sponsorships from a number of different snowboarding companies (over 30). Also, gamers will be sent to media tours from their sponsors and earn money by winning challenges.
Other goodies include gaining your pilot’s license—giving you complete control of your helicopter and launching yourself from anywhere, repeat anywhere, on the mountain. Stoked’s gameplay is being compared to EA’s skateboarding simulator, Skate—bearing a unique control scheme that makes tricks more user-friendly to perform. Need another incentive? Tired of snowboarding? Stoked allows gamers to roam the mountains and take snap shots of the scenery and other snowboarders (via Xbox Live), as they perform tricks from several areas on the terrain. That’s a pretty sick concept.
Look for Stoked to hit stores on January 20th 2009.
