Unsigned Hype: LMFAO
Whether hipster-rap will last is debatable, but what is undeniable is the growing popularity of the sonically sharp LMFAO. With a few party anthems already under their belt, Los Angeles-based Red Foo and Sky Blu are out to show the world that they’re far from being a one trick pony.
That’s right, LMFAO’s “I’m In Miami Bitch” became the unofficial Internet song of the summer and generated remixed choruses from the Bay to LA, as well as a collaboration with Miami’s Pitbull. The duo has continued to build on that success with chest-thumping club tracks “I Am Not A Whore” and “Yes.”
The group’s prevailing theme is simple – fun dance music. LMFAO’s style is no doubt genre-building and with a recent remix of Kanye’s “Love Lockdown,” it is only a matter of time before this eclectic pair makes a large imprint on the game.
