You Are Now Leaving Rap City

BET has confirmed the rumors. After almost twenty years on the air, the network is canceling Rap City.
The staple program will be replaced by The Deal a Hip-Hop video show that will include information about the artists, videos and songs - basically a Pop-Up Video for the Hip-Hop set.
The new show, hosted by DJ Diamond Kutz, will continue the tradition of throwing visiting rappers in “The Booth” to test their freestyle skills.
A Rap City finale is in the works. The Deal premieres November 10.

Yo, Hip hop ain’t the same anyway. No talent cats are coming out making crap (see Marco Polo). There are no more substance and creativity in hip hop no more. so why have a video show anymore? there’s nothing to show anymore. It should stay cancelled until some real hip hop come out.

sad day for hip hop that was the only way some videos that werent being voted on by the little kids could get play and what would hip hop be without the booth….
if we love hip hop we better start opening up some avenues to get real music heard or else its going to be all hip pop music….
