Remember Herbert Hoover in the 1930’s. He inherited the failing economy of Calvin Coolidge, did his best to bring the country out of the depression, and is now regarded as the worst president of all time. It doesn’t matter that he had NOTHING to do with the failing economy. Even if Obama eases the recession and the economy begins to grow, the recession will take place during his presidency and that is all we will remember. However, this will probably not be the case. Obama will try to initiate his healthcare plan which will drive us further into recession. (WHY? extra taxes for the rich will drive down discretionary income, which will drive down their ability to save and invest money, and lower investments and savings means slow/no economic growth.) Oh yes, Obama will do what a rookie would do: EVERYTHING HE SHOULDN’T. Obama should effectively ensure the US doesn’t see another minority president for 30 or 40 years.

Extra taxes on the rich do no such thing. Thats fairy tale economics. For that to be true it would have to be a high enough percentage, that it would bankrupt business. But business managed to bankrupt themselves and default. So the government was forced to step in, now the gov’t needs to recoup its losses. Its Just like the claim that taxes on capital gains destroy business, when really it would affect roughly only 3% of people.
