Unsigned Hype: Stretch Money
Detroit has had little to smile about lately. A high crime rate, major drama surrounding Hip-Hop mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and poor economic opportunities notwithstanding, the Motor City has recently found one of its own to rally behind. His name is Stretch Money.
On the surface, one might assume that Stretch is another D-boy making hustler music. Yet, one listen to any of his tracks will demonstrate his ability to deliver an intelligent and precise flow (no coincidence considering he was a 3.0 student in high school and attended college for a semester).
The need for and realization that C.R.E.A.M. led Stretch to hustling on the block, but run-ins with the law eventually changed his focus. After exhibiting his skills to Crane Novacane, the CEO of Hot Lava Records, Stretch Money was afforded the opportunity to create the Stretch Money Mix Tape. Ultimately, he recorded “Take Money to Make Money,” which fell into heavy rotation on stations throughout the Midwest.
Stretch Money’s songs express his desire for success. Bangers like “Hit Da Block” and “Lil Boy” have snatched the attention of some industry heavyweight and allowed the Michigan rapper to open for Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Gucci Mane, among others. On “Get Dat Doe,” he raps, “The dollar sign is what you see in my eyes/I’d rather have too much instead of being deprived.”
As long as he continues to deliver, Stretch will have no trouble living up to his moniker and a new cause for his city to champion.

how can i get my music reviewed for Unsigned hype
I like the way that the new owners are taking the magazine past the problems that were once out there with the previous owners. I am curious however as when I contact the magazine before about sending some of my artist music in for review in your 5 mic program, the quest I got back was “what is your budget?”. I do not know if that is from the present or previous owners.
So once again I will ask that question. Where would I send music from my artist to be reviewed by your magazine, or do my artist need to be signed only to a major lable?

Midwestern hip-hop duo drop their first single Lean 2 Da Side a Fall anthem for 2008!
(CHICAGO) Tizzle and Streetz are setting the stage for their debut release a 4 song EP What U On which is part of the urban takeover. This Chicago, Gary Indiana duo are on a journey to make you dance while keeping the streets talking about the newest lyrical explosion.
“The music is best described as the future of Midwest hip-hop, where we integrate different styles from some of the best that we’ve admired over the years,” explains Tizzle. “We are young and fresh on the scene with a story to deliver to the masses,” adds Streetz.
The duo has been performing together since they were teenagers. Tizzle (Toney Campbell) and Streetz (Lance Lucas) have traveled to Miami and worked with Grammy-award winning producer/rapper Wyclef Jean while performing at various showcases and festivals throughout the South, East Coast and Midwest as well as creating mixtapes building a buzz in the Dirty South . Recently they performed twice to huge crowds at Chicago’s Puerto Rican Festival (second largest to New York City celebration and largest in the Midwest) the Global Mixx stage and the Chevy Stage.
